The short answer
A family prefab pool has a shallow area for young children, full-width steps to sit on and a slope down to a deeper part for adults. For safety we suggest a fence or a safety cover and non-slip materials round the pool.
Shallow and deep in one pool
The floor is not flat. At one end we keep it shallow, where a child can stand with their head out of the water. From there it slopes gently to the deep end. Sudden changes in depth are what we avoid: a child should never suddenly find there is no floor.
Steps that become a playground
Full-width steps are the children's favourite spot. They sit, play and ease in slowly. For adults they are the place for coffee with your feet in the water.

Safety
- A fence round the pool, with a self-closing, lockable gate.
- A safety cover that bears weight, when the pool is not in use.
- Non-slip materials on the surround and steps.
- Adult supervision, always. No system replaces it.
Warm water for little ones
Children get cold much faster than adults. A heat pump keeps the water pleasant from May, when adults still find it fresh. See climate and season.
From our experienceFamilies in Mesogeia and the northern suburbs tell us that since they built a pool, their children have invited more friends home than ever.
