The short answer
We use Haogenplast PVC membranes with a ten-year warranty. White gives bright turquoise, sand a warm blue, grey a blue-green, black a dark mirror. There are also ranges with an embossed texture or a printed stone or mosaic look.
How the water changes with the membrane
Water has no colour. What you see is the light reflected by the floor. Over a white membrane the sun gives the familiar Caribbean turquoise. Sand softens it, like a beach. Light grey gives a cool blue-green that suits modern houses. Navy and black deepen the water and turn it into a mirror.

The ranges
- Plain colours: white, sand, light grey, light blue, navy, light green, black.
- Embossed: textured surface, more slip-resistant and with depth in the light.
- Stone-look: for a natural feel, suited to gardens with stone.
- Printed mosaic or tile: for the classic look without grout lines.

Choosing in Attica
In sunny gardens of the southern suburbs, a light membrane keeps the water a little cooler. In shady gardens in the north, a dark one warms it faster. In small yards, a light one makes the space look bigger. In overflow pools, a dark one strengthens the mirror effect.
How long it lasts and how to look after it
The membrane has a ten-year manufacturer warranty and usually lasts longer if the water is kept in balance. The biggest risks are too much chlorine, which fades colours, and sharp objects. See maintenance.
