The short answer
In West Attica we build prefab pools on large plots, at holiday homes in Kineta and Nea Peramos and in mountain villages such as Vilia and Erythres. Access is usually easy. For pools over 50 m² the engineer follows a different permit procedure.
Large plots, larger pools
A plot in Mandra or Megara often has room for a pool with more than 50 m² of water surface. That is possible, but the procedure changes: above that limit the small-scale works approval is not enough and the engineer will explain what is needed.
Most of our clients stay under 50 m². A 10 × 4.5 metre pool, for example, fits comfortably within the limit and is plenty for swimming.
Coastal holiday homes
Kineta, Nea Peramos and Porto Germeno have many holiday homes. The same applies here as on any coast: stainless fittings for salt air, a cover for the wind, automation for the weeks you are away. See the page on villas and rentals.
Mountain villages: Vilia and Erythres
Vilia and Erythres sit on the slopes of Kithaironas, with cold winters and cool summers. The pool needs winter protection and, if you want it warm from June, heating. The ground is often stony.
Access and scheduling
The Attiki Odos and Olympia Odos motorways bring Megara closer than it looks. Machines and materials arrive easily, and on large plots we work with a full-size digger, which speeds up excavation.
From our experienceFor large pools we suggest two floor suction points and more return inlets. The water circulates evenly and there are no «dead» corners.
