The short answer
The cost of a prefab pool depends mainly on five things: size, ground, access to the plot, equipment and surround. Because these vary a lot from plot to plot in Attica, we give a price only in writing, after a free site visit.
Size and depth
More surface means more wall and membrane. More depth means more digging and more water. Depth is often the easiest place to save: a family pool does not need two metres.
Ground
Soil digs quickly. Rock needs a hammer and time. Sand needs gentler slopes and care. Groundwater needs pumping and drainage. In Attica we have met them all, sometimes in the same municipality. If there is a lot of rock, a raised pool may work out cheaper.
Access
If the digger drives into the garden and the truck reaches the gate, everything goes quickly. If we work from a narrow passage, with a mini machine and bags, digging takes longer. For the islands the ferry is added.
Equipment
The basic pool has a filter, pump, skimmer, inlets and one light. Beyond that you choose: heat pump, automatic dosing, robot, cover, more lights, hydromassage, counter-current. Some can be added later, some cannot. We explain it in the plant room guide.
Surround and finishes
The coping, the paving round the pool, the decking, the fence. Here the options are endless and cost can run away. We often suggest building the pool first with a simple surround and adding the rest in a second phase.
From our experienceOne thing we advise not to cut is the variable-speed pump. It costs a little more at first, but the difference in electricity shows from the first season.
