The short answer
In Saronida, Anavyssos and around Sounion we build prefab pools mainly for holiday homes. We often meet rocky ground and slopes down to the sea. We design the pool to stay clean with automation while the house is empty.
A pool for a house that is not lived in all year
If you come only at weekends or in the summer months, the pool has to look after itself. A timer for the pump, chlorine dosing or salt electrolysis, a cleaning robot and control from your phone. Then, when you arrive on Friday, the water is ready.

Rock and schist
Much of Lavreotiki has rocky ground, often schist that splits into layers. Digging is slower than in soil, but rock makes a very stable base. On plots with a lot of rock we suggest a shallower depth or a raised pool.
Water: mains, borehole or truck
In some parts of Lavreotiki the mains supply arrives at low pressure or with summer restrictions. Many owners fill the pool by water truck, which takes a few hours. If there is a borehole near the sea, its water may be brackish and we do not recommend it for the pool.
A cover is close to essential here: it cuts evaporation a lot, and with it the top-ups through the summer.
Sea views
Many plots in Saronida and Thymari run down towards the Saronic Gulf. An overflow pool facing the sea gives the picture most people dream of. It needs a retaining wall on the lower side and a gutter for the spilling water.
From our experienceFor holiday homes in the area we suggest building between autumn and spring. In summer the neighbours are out on their terraces and noise bothers them more.
